"Rachel's was just the voice I needed to get me back on track. After losing 120 pounds, I was really frustrated that I still had a gut and wasn't as toned as I wanted to be. After exchanging several e-mails with Rachel about my current diet and exercise routines, she spent an hour on the phone with me, offering her on insights on small changes that could help me reach my ultimate goal. For a long time, I'd felt like no one would ever get just how frustrating it was to come this far and still be unhappy with my body, but Rachel didn't judge or write me off as vain. Without Rachel's encouragement, it might have taken me several more months to get a firm grasp on the changes that will push me past the ultimate plateau." -- Ashley G.
"Rachel helped me focus on the things most important to me and helped me achieve balance in my day-to-day activities.
When I first came across Shedding It & Getting It, Rachel's health blog, almost immediately I was hooked. I read a lot of blogs and some were more out of habit than love. I like to be healthy, I like to do good things for my body, but frankly I get bored easily, not only in life but with blogs. Not with Rachel. She was smart, witty, and frank. She loved health and wellness, that was obvious...but she also loved drinking, boys, and McDonald’s French fries. I immediately wanted to be her friend (and I was, on Facebook).
I lurked for weeks around Rachel’s blog and finally reached out to her when I realized she had what I and so many others seek to achieve: balance. She’s a personal trainer, a spin instructor -- hell she ran a damn MARATHON! -- but that has never been what struck me with Rachel. She did these things, yes, but she spun them in ways to make them relate to the other, sexier side of life. Rachel never apologizes for who she is or her actions, whether they lead her to a weekend of Whole Foods Market, a run, and being outdoors...or a weekend of a bangover, a cupcake, and a lazy Sunday reading Cosmopolitan and Allure.
As my coach, Rachel helped me re-define my goals in a way that was manageable and she made me laugh to boot. We pared down my cardio routine and she gave me a strength training routine I didn’t HATE...and we brainstormed ideas for my own blog. Though I have not reached all my goals yet, Rachel guided me to strive with purpose toward the things most important to me, rather than strive for what I think I 'should.'" -- Rachel S.
